Yale: 2012 – 2013 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

New Haven, CT — Yale, the 2011 national champions, had only two losses last season, and both came at the hands of their traditional rivals, Harvard. If any team can deny Harvard their third national title in four years, it’s Yale, and the Bulldogs will have home court advantage if they make it back to the Howe Cup final. They’ll be stronger this time around. “We are excited to have Shihui Mao, Issey Norman-Ross, and Kimberley Hay back at full strength after injury and illness last season,” says associate head coach Pam Saunders. “It is like adding three new players to our top 9 in addition to our very capable freshmen.” Saunders also has high praise for the leadership of the senior class. “The current senior class has worked very hard to change the culture at Yale squash and has done a fantastic job at creating a close team that is still able to go out and compete hard against each other in challenge matches. They have shown their teammates that only 100% dedication is acceptable and as a result there is no program that trains as hard or as effectively as the Yale squash team.”
