Boston University: 2012 – 2013 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Boston, MA — Winning the 2012 Hawthorn Cup secured the Boston University Terriers a spot in the top 50. The team is now poised to make a big move up the rankings. Only one player from the top 9 graduated last season, and five of the eight newcomers are expected to play in the starting line-up. The Terriers anticipate that they will carry a roster of 20 players this year, and that depth makes them optimistic about the upcoming season. For the travel squad, the team is upping the number of weekly practices from two to six. The practice squad will also be training more this season, increasing to three training sessions per week. Three Boston-area schools will be key matches on the Terriers’ schedule: Boston College, MIT, and Northeastern. “With a much stronger team with more depth, we should be able to give these three teams a good match,” says team vice-president Chaiyatat Ben Bunjapamai. Wins against these teams could help bring the Terriers closer to their goal of reaching the top 35.
