Palo Alto, CA — The Stanford senior class would like to bookend their collegiate careers. As first year students, the class of 2016 captured the Conroy Cup, a feat they are aiming for this season. According to head coach Mark Talbott, “We have strong senior leadership this season in Will MacFarlane and Vihan Khanna. With the addition of at least four new freshmen, plus the fact that we only lost one senior last year, we should be significantly improved. We are going to be stronger at the top with added depth this season.” Stanford was in the mix for the Conroy Cup last season, despite injuries. They lost a 4-5 match to Conn College in the semifinals. Talbott explains that Stanford “lost a very close match to Conn last year and look forward to playing them again. We hope to be more competitive also with Hamilton and Hobart. Virginia is also knocking on our door.” Stanford’s home courts were renovated during the fall, which should help the Cardinal with training. Look for Stanford to be in the mix for a Conroy Cup crown.
