Illinois Springfield: 2012 — 2013 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Springfield, Illinois — After making the leap into nine-player competition at the Men’s National Team Championships last season, the University of Illinois Springfield looks to continue its growth. “This year will be our second year attending the Jester’s tournament in Chicago,” explains captain Jamaal Hollins, who also serves as the team’s assistant coach. “We hope to be very competitive against all of the teams, coming out with strong victories.” The team is also looking to travel farther afield this season and add a round robin on the west or east coast to their expanding schedule. Sophomore Scott Warden will be joining the team, Carson Buss will take over as co-captain from Charlie Dobson, and Mary Sheila Tracy will act as the team’s faculty adviser. “While the UIS squash team is still young we are fully committed and dedicated to creating a winning, strong, and long lasting squash team,” says Hollins.
