Hartford, CT — Trinity takes a team-oriented approach to the season. There may be a great deal of competition throughout the ladder, but the Trinity players are ultimately “committed to off-season conditioning and functionining as a team over individual accomplishment,” reports David Kingsley, Trinity’s sports information director. Three new Bantams will be joining the program. Kanzy El-DeFrawy is expected to play at the top of the ladder. Katiria Sanchez is expected to play in the bottom 3, and Sachika Balvani will be competing for a spot in the starting line-up as well. Robyn Hodgson, Catalina Pelaez, and Melva Lopez will serve as the team’s tri-captains. The Bantams finished third in the nation last season, making it to the semifinals of the Women’s National Team Championships. They’d like to make it at least a round further this season and compete for the Howe Cup. Trinity will begin this season’s campaign on November 30 with a match against another NESCAC school, Connecticut College.
