2010 NESCAC Women’s Squash Championship Tournament: Friday

Hartford, Conn. – The NESCAC Women’s Squash Championship Tournament opened on Friday at the George A. Kellner Squash Center on the campus of Trinity College. No. 8-seed Wesleyan edged No.9-seed Bowdoin, 5-4, all but three matches lasting more than three games. No. 6 Hamilton easily defeated No. 11 Connecticut College, 9-0, while No. 7 Colby outplayed No. 10 Tufts, 7-2.

Friday’s winners will compete on Saturday at Trinity. The losers of Friday’s round will resume competition in the consolation round on Saturday, which will be played at Wesleyan.

No 4-seed Middlebury and No. 5-seed Amherst will square off Saturday, while Wesleyan will face No. 1-seed Trinity. No. 3-seed Bates will face Hamilton, No. 2-seed Williams will take on Colby. The top three seeds earned first round byes.

Women’s action is scheduled to continue at noon on Saturday.
