Hartford, Conn. – The NESCAC Men’s Squash Championship Tournament opened on Friday at the George A. Kellner Squash Center on the campus of Trinity College. No. 6-seed Amherst cruised to a 9-0 victory over No. 11-seed Wesleyan, No. 7-seed Tufts defeated No. 10-seed Connecticut College 8-1, and No. 9-seed Hamilton College edged No. 8-seed Colby College in a 5-4 upset victory.
Friday’s winners will compete Saturday at Trinity. The losers of Friday’s round will resume competition in the consolation round Saturday, which will be played at Wesleyan.
No 4-seed Bowdoin and No. 5-seed Middlebury will square off on Saturday, while Hamilton will face the No. 1-seed Trinity. No. 3-seed Bates will face Amherst, No. 2-seed Williams will take on Tufts. The top three seeds earned first round byes.
Men’s action is scheduled to continue at 9 a.m. Saturday.
