St. Lawrence: 2015 – 2016 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

St. Lawrence UniversityCanton, NY — The Saints’ goals for the upcoming season are to improve their national ranking as well as their dual match record. They finished the 2014 – 2015 season ranked 21st in the nation, and they posted a 5-7 record. “After graduating just one senior starter and adding five new first years to the roster, the St. Lawrence women’s program looks forward to a promising season this year,” reports assistant coach Nikhil Seth. Given their ladder for the upcoming season, cracking the top 20 and finishing at .500 seem like reasonable targets. Improving their dual-match record many actually be the more challenging task of the two; the St. Lawrence women, who are ranked in the 20s, play similar teams to the St. Lawrence men, who finished last season ranked second in the nation.  Matches against top teams can help St. Lawrence develop the reliance to power through tough matches against closer competitors.  Bowdoin, Colby, Tufts, and William Smith will be essential matches for the Saints this season.
