Vassar: 2014 – 2015 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Vassar CollegePoughkeepsie, NY — Vassar is in the midst of rebuilding. Last season, injuries plagued the Brewers. They graduated three players from last season’s Team Championships and with four players studying abroad during the fall semester, Vassar will be challenged, although the second semester brings hope. According to head coach Jane Parker, “Although four returners are studying abroad for the first semester, some of our stronger players will return from injury, so we’re encouraged about the upcoming year. We have an influx of enthusiastic sophomores who learned to play in PE class last year. Our goal is to work hard, play smart and stay injury-free to give us the best chance of taking some victories against teams we lost to last year.” The team is focused on matches with Fordham and Haverford, teams that the Brewers have traded wins and losses with over the past few seasons.  The team is excited to have Shahid Khan join the coaching staff. In addition, the Brewers will work with the Vassar College Urban Educations Initiative (VCUIE). Although Vassar may be challenged early, look for the Brewers to make advancements in the second semester.
