Hartford, CT — At the 2011 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Squash Championships, Middlebury and Hamilton played.
Hamilton defeated Connecticut College to set up the match with Middlebury. The Panthers defeated Hamilton and upset Williams to reach the finals against Trinity. Middelbury finished the season ranked 13th in the nation.
At the 2011 Women’s National Team Championships (Howe Cup), Hamilton was awarded the 2011 Chaffee Award, which recognizes team sportsmanship. Jamie King, Hamilton’s coach, was named the 2011 NESCAC Coach of the Year.
At the match at the number 1 position, Hamilton’s Amanda Thorman faced Middlebury’s Elena Laird. Laird won the match in three games (11-3, 11-0, and 11-6).
