Kenyon College adds Varsity Squash

We are excited to share that Kenyon College will be adding men’s and women’s varsity squash programs, with competition set to begin in the 2027–2028 academic year.

Following approval from Kenyon’s Board of Trustees, this milestone marks a significant addition for Kenyon and reflects the continued growth of college squash. The new programs will bring Kenyon’s varsity offerings to 25 sports and, importantly, add meaningful momentum to the expansion of collegiate squash in the Midwest.

At the heart of this announcement is the Lowry Center, Kenyon’s eight-court squash facility that has supported a vibrant campus squash community for more than two decades. From recreational play to a successful club program—with past achievements including CSA National Championship titles in the Serues Cup (2009) and Chaffee Cup (2010)—the foundation is firmly in place for a smooth and exciting transition to varsity competition.

Kenyon will begin a national search for a head coach in the coming months, with the 2026–2027 academic year dedicated to building the program ahead of its first varsity season. The College also intends to compete as an associate member of the Liberty League, joining a strong and growing group of programs and creating new competitive opportunities within the region.

CSA Commissioner Harry Smith said, “Kenyon’s addition of varsity squash is not only a meaningful step forward for the College, but also a strong signal of continued growth and institutional investment in college squash. We are excited about what this means for Kenyon and the role the program will play in the years ahead.”

CSA Director of Expansion Lovey Roundtree added, “Adding varsity teams at Kenyon creates meaningful new opportunities for student-athletes and represents continued progress in expanding college squash, particularly in the Midwest.”

We look forward to officially welcoming Kenyon into the College Squash Association and to supporting the program as it builds toward its inaugural season and beyond.
