University of Virginia: 2021-2022 Season Preview

University of Virginia Cavaliers

2021-2022 SEASON PREVIEW

  • 2020 was a program-best year for Head Coach Mark Allen’s Virginia teams with exemplary rankings and some hardware – women’s Kurtz Cup (B Division) championship – to show for their efforts. The clear goal is to find that momentum to reach new heights in 2022.
  • The women’s team is poised to not only break into the Top 8, but make some waves for historical stalwarts while they are there. Their enviable mix of seasoned returners and talented newcomers will be put to the test early in the season with several key matches scheduled for November.
  • The UVA men will have a similar challenging opening to the season and will want to send a message that their fifth-ranked finish in 2020 was not a fluke. Their returning cast is very strong as well, which should help guide them through choppy waters at the outset to the season.

We have high hopes for our teams, and for each individual, on the squash court and off. Here is to a tremendous 2021-2022 year for the whole CSA!”
