Tufts: 2018-2019 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

The Tufts Jumbos Men’s Squash team is poised to make an impact this season, both in NESCAC league play and in the national picture.  With maybe the only team in the CSA who did not graduate any members of the starting lineup, second-year Head Coach Joe Raho will have an experienced group with which to work.  Clearly Raho worked hard in the off-season as well, bringing in five solid recruits who will battle for playing time right away. Tufts has not competed in the Summers Cup (C Division) of the CSA Men’s National Team Championships since 2010, but this could be the year for a Jumbos team that also returns its first All-NESCAC selections since 2014 – senior Alan Litman and junior Raghav Kumar. In order to challenge his promising squad, Raho has set up regular season contests with several teams just above them in the CSA Preseason Rankings.  Colby (23rd) in November, MIT (22nd) and Bowdoin (25th) in December, and Amherst (24th) and Hobart (26th) in January will be the teams that Tufts will aim to pick off as it tries to work its way into the Summers Cup draw in February.
