Trinity: 2018-2019 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

As Head Coach Wendy Bartlett enters her 35th season in charge of the Trinity Bantams Women’s Squash program, she still maintains level expectations for her highly successful squad. “We are training hard on and off the court to be the best team we can be,” she says.  Achieving their best last season meant returning to the National Championship match for the first time in 3 years and winning the NESCAC Championship for the 12th year in a row.  Three key members of that successful run have since graduated, however, and while one of them – Karolina Holinkova – will still be on the sidelines as a coach this season, the Trinity women have some big shoes to fill.  A trio of 2018 CSA Second Team All-Americans – Salma Alam El Din, NESCAC Rookie of the Year Min Jie Teh, and Vanessa Raj – will be asked to step up to the challenge, and they will be joined by four first-year players with impressive junior level credentials.  Trinity will meet the rest of the top 5 teams during the regular season this year, hoping to set themselves up for another run to the championship match in 2019.
