Bowdoin: 2016 – 2017 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Bowdoin College Brunswick, ME — Bowdoin completed the 2015 – 2016 season with a 6 – 7 record and finished 8th in the Summers Cup at the Men’s College Squash Association National Team Championships. The Polar Bears want to return to their winning ways this season. Head coach Tomas Fortson, Bowdoin’s all-time men’s squash coaching wins leader, is focused on “all matches.” The team played six 5-4 matches last year, winning half of them. Experience in close matches will be critical this season as the Polar Bears attempt to move up the rankings. Joining the squad will be assistant coach Scott Phillips. In addition, Bowdoin is adding three freshmen to the team, which will help fill the void left by the three players not returning from last season’s Team Championship line-up. Bowdoin plays a tough schedule, and they need to seize their opportunities in close matches this season if they want to remain in the Summers Cup.
