Chapel Hill, NC — Squash is alive in North Carolina. After competing in five official matches last season, the Tar Heels are back for the 2015 – 2016 season. The squad is eyeing match-ups with traditional rival Duke as well as Notre Dame and Vanderbilt. Last season, the emerging club program increased participation by 50%. North Carolina will look to continue that participation increase as they hope to play more multi-match tournaments. In addition, the Tar Heels have hired a coach, Rick Kagan, which should help stabilize the program. After completing last season with an 0-5 record, the University of North Carolina will look to break into the win column this season. Watch out for intercollegiate squash in North Carolina.
