Washington: 2015 – 2016 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Washington, University of

Seattle, WA — Washington’s 2014 – 2015 campaign was filled with ups and downs. “It was an exciting season, but ultimately disappointing because at Nationals we lost 5-4 to both Minnesota and Cal, teams we had beaten earlier in the year,” reports head coach Michael Bishop. “After a season in which we lost two close matches at Nationals, the team goal is to hang in there in the tight contests and win those 5-4 matches instead of being on the losing end.” The Huskies had their share of close matches last year, playing four contests that were decided by a single individual match. Despite the losses last February, the Huskies did win their other two 5-4 matches. They’ve proven they can pull out close wins; now they just need to do it when it counts the most. During the season, the co-ed team will be focused on tackling West Coast rival Cal, a team usually vying with the Huskies for one of the top spots in the region.
