Hobart: 2014 – 2015 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Hobart CollegeGeneva, NY — After finishing as the runner-up in the Conroy Cup (D Division) at last season’s National Team Championships, Hobart wants to move up to the Summers Cup (C Division). To accomplish this goal, the Statesmen will need to get more production from the bottom 3 in their order. Last season, the bottom 3 captured 39% of their matches, while the top 3 and middle 3 won 43% and 47%, respectively. In addition, Hobart will need to improve their results in close matches. They lost their two 5-4 matches last season. The Statesmen graduated two players from Team Championships, but they have four experienced players joining the roster this season.  Hobart only has one senior, McGee O’Neil, on this year’s squad. O’Neil serves as a member of the Statesmen Athletic Association Board of Directors. According to head coach Tim Riskie, “We are a young, deep, and constantly improving team.” Look for the Statesmen to improve as the season progresses.
