[rankingimage] Northampton, MA — Today, the Dunlop 2013 – 2014 Women’s College Squash Preseason Team Rankings were released.

Harvard starts the season as the top-ranked squad. The Crimson are aiming for their fourth national championship in five years. Trinity, Penn, Princeton, and Yale have their own plans and will attempt to dethrone Harvard.

The following  schools improved in the rankings from last season: California, Dartmouth, Drexel, Franklin & Marshall, Haverford, Johns Hopkins, NYU, Rochester, Smith, St. Lawrence, Tufts, and William Smith.

The following schools dropped spots in the rankings: Amherst, Brown, Conn College, Georgetown, Hamilton, and Virginia.

Preseason rankings were based heavily on the team questionnaires returned for the 2013 – 2014 Season Previews, which included information on graduating and incoming players, and offseason training opportunities. Select schools have already commenced their seasons.  The results of these early matches were not factored into the preseason rankings. Teams that did not compete in the 2012 – 2013 Women’s College Squash Association National Team Championships or that competed in the 5-player Emerging Teams Division were not ranked.
