Bowdoin: 2013 – 2014 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Bowdoin CollegeBrunswick, ME — The end of Bowdoin’s 2012 – 2013 season was nothing short of magical. The Polar Bears entered the tournament as the third-seed in the Walker Cup and after a series of 5-4 victories over Hamilton and Wesleyan, they returned to Maine with the C Division crown.  The Polar Bears are well poised to build on last season’s success. Tomas Fortson, Bowdoin’s head coach who is known for building teams that peak at the end of season, explains that the team is focused on working together, getting better, and competing well. Bowdoin’s top-4 players are returning, three of which are juniors. They will be joined by three experienced high school players, which should assist in filling the gaps left by graduating seniors. Although Bowdoin is viewing all matches as key this season, their NESCAC matches will be crucial as they attempt to improve on last season’s results.
