Hamilton: 2013 – 2014 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Hamilton College Clinton, NY — Hamilton is a young team with a bright future. “We didn’t lose many players from last season and won’t lose many after this season either,” explains Hamilton sports information director Jim Taylor. Only one player from last season’s top nine has graduated, and only two seniors are on the roster. Last season, the Continentals finished last in the Summers Cup, and this year the team will be working on moving up the rankings while focusing on sportsmanship. Says Taylor, “We are an improved team from last year. We’re more dedicated to excellence and representing the highest standard of sportsmanship.” Hamilton is in the process of hiring a new full-time assistant coach, and former Colby standout Kate Pistel has also joined the staff. The team is planning a training trip to the San Francisco area, and they will be working with Hamilton Against Hunger and urban squash programs. “We’re also looking forward to hosting the NESCAC Championships for the first time in late January and early February,” reports Taylor.
