Charleston: 2013 – 2014 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Charleston, College of Charleston, SC — “We have a great group of players who are hungry to take our team to the next level,” says captain Evan Casciato. The Cougars won the 2013 Hawthorn Cup over Cal Berkeley, and with that win in the books, Charleston is looking to move forward and compete in a higher division. “We want to rise in our national ranking this year and in order to do that we need to beat every team we face,” Casciato explains, listing key opponents. “We are going to UVA for a round robin again this year and would really like to take UVA down. Sewanee and Vanderbilt always give us good matches at the Jesters College Squash Tournament in Atlanta. We have played Ithaca a lot throughout the years and they also give us a good match.” Chandler Kurtz (Avon Old Farms) and Oliver Wade (Packer Collegiate) will be joining the team and are expected to play in the middle three.
