Johns Hopkins: 2013 – 2014 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Johns Hopkins University Baltimore, MD — The 2012-2013 season was a learning experience for Johns Hopkins. After making steady progress during the season, the Blue Jays undermined their previous successes by competing with only three players, incurring a loss that cost them in the rankings. By championships, the team had recovered, fielding a full roster and finishing 6th in the Epps Cup. This season, the team has a renewed commitment to competitive play, and  they will be working with a new coach, Sergio Lopez. Co-captain Dorothy Kim outlines the team’s goals: “We plan to travel to Boston and play new opponents near our ranking, continue and increase intensity of practices, utilize the new coach to bring new match strategy into play, and prepare intensely until team championships. Over the last four years, Hopkins Squash has come a long way in terms of level of play and commitment. Despite being a club team, practices are rigorous, the work from which is seen in the improved match play.”
