Cornell: 2013 – 2014 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Cornell University Ithaca, NY —  Cornell doesn’t give up. “Our goal for the past two seasons has been to break into the top 5,” says head coach Julee Devoy. “Last season we had some close losses so we will be back to try again.” The Bears will also be trying to hold off other teams eager to move up the rankings. “Stanford and Dartmouth sit just behind us and always recruit well. Beating them is crucial to hold our position at #6,” notes Devoy. The two newest players on the Cornell team are Rachel Scherman and Sydney Francis; Scherman is expected to play somewhere in the middle of the order, and Francis will likely play in the bottom three. “We have a fun group of girls who are committed to helping each other for the overall success of the team,” Devoy explains. “The team works hard and plays harder!”
