St. Lawrence: 2013 – 2014 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

St. Lawrence UniversityCanton, NY — Even with the success of the men’s program the past few seasons, the St. Lawrence women should not be overlooked. They have been a contender in the Epps Cup the past few seasons and the team would like to move up the rankings. Head coach Chris Abplanalp and second year assistant Pamela Larromana are very optimistic about the upcoming season. The Saints only graduated two players from the 2013 Women’s National Team Championships and three of the four incoming players are expected to compete for positions at the top of the ladder. “We are in a good position to improve on our ranking and compete in every match we play,” explains Abplanalp. This season, the Saints are looking at key matches with Bowdoin, Colby, Wesleyan, and William Smith to be the barometer of their improvement. The Saints clearly have their eye on moving into the Walker Cup this season at the Women’s National Team Championships.
