MIT: 2013 – 2014 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Cambridge, MA — With so many teams based in or traveling to the Boston area, MIT rarely has to hit the road for a match because the Engineers frequently host matches and round robins. This year, the squad has a number of local teams on its schedule and is anticipating key matches against BC, BU, Northeastern, and Tufts as well as Conn and Wesleyan. At last season’s championships, the Engineers went out on a close 4-5 loss to Washington University in St. Louis in the E Division consolation finals. With Harvard as the host site for this year’s Men’s National Team Championships, MIT may have home court (or at least home town) advantage when it counts the most. Head coach Nadeem Mazen looks forward to the addition of “lots of skilled freshmen who will add to the great, cohesive team vibe.” Though the Engineers lost three starters to graduation, they will have seven new players joining the team: Thomas Cowan, Tyler Finkelstein, Dominic Hansford, Karan Kashyap, Jordan Ladd, Linh Nguyen, and Nikhil Punwaney.
