Lancaster, PA — Franklin & Marshall is looking to improve on their end of season ranking of 7th from a season ago. At first glance, this would appear to be a very challenging goal. After all, the team lost its numbers 1, 5, and 9 from the 2013 Men’s National Team Championships and its number 2 will be studying abroad during the fall semester. However, there will be plenty of new faces and talent in Lancaster this season. The Diplomats have six new players, including two players who should compete for spots at the top of the ladder. The influx of talent will be helpful as the Diplomats will be tested early in the season with three of their first five matches against fellow Potter Cup teams Trinity, Princeton, and Yale. According to head coach Gavin Jones,”Everyone is excited as we have a very talented group of players who work hard but have fun and enjoy every aspect of college life.” For the squad’s community service project, the team will be volunteering as mentors and coaches with Squash ACES.
