Georgetown: 2011 – 2012 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Washington, DC — Georgetown surprised a lot of people last season, upsetting three varsity teams decisively to take the D Division title. The Epps Cup champions are looking to repeat as the top club team in the nation.

It won’t be easy. Georgetown’s top two players have graduated, and their number 4 from last season is studying abroad.

“After graduating our top two players, we know we have a tough season ahead,” says captain Carolyn Meister. “However, we are confident that the rising talent will help in our continued success.”

Six new players will be joining the team this season, and interest in squash remains high at Georgetown. “We are trying to remain the top club team and challenge more varsity programs,” Meister explains. “Our long term goal is to become a varsity program, and hopefully another strong season will help with that goal.”
