Siena: 2011 – 2012 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Loudonville, NY — Siena’s goal for the season is straightforward: win.

The team came up empty-handed last season, going 0-7 and coming in tenth in the Hawthorn Cup. Don’t count on a repeat, though. Siena should have a new number one in Daniel O’Connor, who founded the club team at Cornell before transferring to Siena. Sophomore Kevin Schafer is expected to play in the bottom 3, and a slew of freshmen — Ben Caesar, Gordo Wiltse, Anthony Piro, Jacky Cheng, Rich Pacheco, Tyler Kallquist, and Jon Tasca — will be jockeying for position in the line-up.

With so much interest from new players, the young program should have no problem fielding a nine-player team again this season.

The wins that eluded Siena last season should not be long in coming.
