Penn: 2011 – 2012 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Philadelphia, PA — The Penn men have racked up some national titles even before the season has gotten underway.

Earlier this fall, senior co-captains Thomas Mattsson and Trevor McGuinness reclaimed the intercollegiate doubles title they won as freshman. McGuinness, who also won the doubles championship in 2010 with Porter Drake, teamed up with Colleen Fehm to take the inaugural mixed doubles title as well.

Princeton, the main site of the 2011-2012 Men’s National Team Championships, boasts a doubles court, so that augurs well for the Quakers. Perhaps some of that success from doubles will carry over into the rest of the season.

Penn lost numbers 3, 4, and 5 from last season’s team, which made it to the B Division finals. Six new players will be joining the program: Jack Maine, Oscar Mattsson, Cole McCourt, Michael Mutscheller, Hunter Schlacks, and Matt Sheridan.
