2010 World University Squash Games Semifinals Results

2010 World University GamesMelbourne, Australia — After three days of competition at the 2010 World University Squash Games, Todd Harrity, a soon-to-be sophomore at Princeton University, faced Germany’s Jens Schoor in the semifinals of the main draw of the men’s individual tournament.

Schoor, a 23 year old, is ranked 103 in the world.  Harrity had a phenomenal first year of collegiate play, losing in the finals of the Pool Trophy (individual title).  In the semifinals of the University Games, Schoor defeated Harrity in three games (11-7, 11-8, 11-6).

Harrity will next face Hong Kong’s Leo Au in the 3/4 playoff.

Dartmouth’s Chris Hanson defeated Spain’s Eduardo Gonzales 11-6, 11-4, 11-2.  Next up for Hanson is the match for ninth place with Singapore’s Marcus Hui.

Like Hanson, Cornell’s Alex Domenick won his match. He defeated Ho Fai Chui of Hong Kong. Domenick will face Australia’s Sam Brown to decide thirteenth place.

After defeating South Africa’s Senada Haupt, Penn’s Kristen Lange will play Shin Nga Leung of Hong Kong for fifth place in the women’s draw.  Yale’s Logan Greer lost to Nga Leung, so she will face Haupt on Wednesday for seventh place.

Canada’s Colin West (Harvard) will play for fifth place in the men’s tournament, while teammate Laura Gemmell (Harvard) will compete for thirteenth place in the women’s tournament.
