2010 World University Squash Games Quarterfinals Results

2010 World University GamesMelbourne, Australia — The 2010 World University Squash Games continued with quarterfinal action on Monday.  In men’s individual play, the United States’ Todd Harrity (Princeton) defeated Great Britain’s Peter Creed in four games (12-10, 11-8, 7-11, 11-5).  Harrity will look to continue his  success against Jens Schoor of Germany in the semifinals.  Schoor is seeded second in the tournament.

Canada’s Colin West (Harvard) fell to Hong Kong’s Leo Au (11-1, 11-4, 7-11, 3-11, 11-5), which means college squash fans will be unable to see a rematch of the 2010 Pool Trophy finals between West and Harrity.

For the women, both Logan Greer (Yale) and Kristen Lange (Penn) lost in the quarterfinals. Greer fell to Britain’s Emma Chorley (11-2, 11-7, 11-9), while Annie Au of Hong Kong defeated Lange (11-5, 11-3, 11-6).

On Tuesday, Cornell’s Alex Domenick will face Hong Kong’s Ho Fai Chui in round one of the men’s 13-14 playoff. As of Monday evening, Dartmouth’s Chris Hanson’s next opponent has not been posted.

The team portion of the 2010 World University Squash Games will begin on Thursday.
