Trinity: 2009 – 2010 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

TrinityHartford, CT — After winning eleven consecutive Team Championships and 202 straight matches, the Trinity Bantams are not planning to rest this season.  They are vying for their twelfth title and expect tough competition from Princeton and Rochester this season.  The Bantams host regular season matches with both schools this year.

The team recognizes that the new scoring system, Point-a-Rally (PAR) to 11, will add an extra challenge to the season. It will raise the intensity and overall pace of matches.

Besides all of the team’s success on the courts, Trinity’s men are also talented in the classroom. There are four scholar athletes, six Phi Beta Kappa members, and three players who are in the top fifteen of their class.  In addition, the team volunteers for Do-It-Day, in which they clean local kindergarten classrooms.

This year, Antonio Diaz-Gonzalez Salas has transferred to Trinity.  At Connecticut College last season, he went undefeated during the regular season, which earned him recognition in Sports Illustrated.

Baset Chaudhry and Supreet Singh will serve as the team’s captains this season. Chaudhry will also be looking to earn his third consecutive individual championship (Pool Trophy).
