Columbia University's men's and women's squash programs will be elevated to varsity status this fall. Kelsey Engman has been named head coach of the women's program, and Jacques Swanepoel will continue to lead the men's program.
Being named a Scholar Athlete for the College Squash Association is an honor reserved for student athletes that meet extensive criteria in the classroom and on the squash courts.
During the first semester of the 2009 - 2010 season, Vanderbilt's women played matches with Columbia, Bates, and Vassar at the StreetSquash facility in New York City.
