Wellesley: 2013 – 2014 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

Wellesley College Wellesley, MA — Wellesley went out of the 2012-2013 squash season with a win, edging out Connecticut College 5-4 to finish seventh in the Walker Cup. Conn figures to be a key match on Wellesley’s schedule, as the Blue want to stay ahead of the Camels in the rankings. To do so, they will have to draw on a number of new players, as five players from last year’s championship roster have graduated or are studying abroad. The Wellesley coaching staff is optimistic about the team’s prospects. “We’re extremely young and have a lot of players with bright futures,” says assistant coach David Renninger. The new players should add depth to the Blue’s order. Kelsey Burhans and Rhea Advani are expected to play in the middle three, and Meera Nayar, Navisha Gupta, and Ruby Feng are expected to play in the bottom three. Mollee Jain and Sara Tamarro will also be part of the mix, competing for spots in the starting line-up. The Blue will open the season against Northeastern in early November, and they are scheduled to have a rematch with Conn on November 17.
