On Friday afternoon, #15 Colby traveled to Boston for their season opener against #17 MIT. “Being named CSA Match of the Week certainly added to the level of excitement going into tonight’s [Friday’s] match at MIT” Chris Abplanalp, Men’s and Women’s Head Squash Coach, explains. 

Though it was not an easy task, the men fought through several close matches to bring home the victory. “Winning a very tight 6-3 match was a great way to kick off the season” Abplanalp tells CSA. He is “proud of the way the guys played and showed a lot of toughness in what was a very intense match that saw the momentum change hands a number of times”. 

The men were happy to return the favor to MIT after falling to them last year. While “MIT is a hard-working, well coached team”, Colby’s new recruiting class bumped them above MIT in the rankings and the team justified that jump with this win.
