Penn Upsets Stanford in CSA Women’s Match of the Week

The women’s 20th meeting between Penn and Stanford took place on Friday afternoon at the Penn Squash Center and it did not disappoint. The Quakers started off strong taking the first wave of matches followed by several close games. Penn came out on top upsetting Stanford 7-2.

Just last week, the Penn women defeated Drexel moving them from #8 to #5 in the rankings. The women continue to climb after this victory bringing down the #4 ranked women, Stanford.

The Penn women remain undefeated in the season thus far with a 6-0 record. Jack Wyant, Women’s Head Squash Coach, attributes this success to the dedication and synergy of his team. “The women work to get better every day. They love each other. Thrilled to see their hard work and togetherness translate into victories” Wyant shares.

Wyant and his team will travel to Williams for their last match of the semester where they will look to continue this momentum. There is a “long way to go this season, but I’m thrilled with the start. Many tough tests to come” Wyant comments.
