Western University (Ontario): 2021-2022 Season Preview

Western University (Ontario) Mustangs

2021-2022 SEASON PREVIEW

  • Head Coach and Western alumnus Chris Hanebury finally gets a chance to lead his team in competition after taking over the head role at the beginning of the pandemic.
  • Even before worrying about the massive early-season matches against MIT, Columbia, and Yale, the Mustangs will need to navigate the travel restrictions related to crossing the border.
  • Once matchday comes, the lineup will look considerably different than the last time we saw them on court, with six of the nine starters from the 2020 championships having moved on to post-college life.
  • Notably, the team is dedicating their efforts this season to the memory of legendary Western coach Jack Fairs, who passed away earlier this year.
