Conn College: 2018-2019 Women’s College Squash Season Preview

The Connecticut College Women’s Squash team has been a mainstay in Epps Cup (D Division) play for several years now, but second-year Head Coach Mike MacDonald knows what it could take to improve on those results: “With some extra depth this year and some off-season work at home, the Conn College women look to continue to close in on the teams ahead.” After playing to their seed in 2018, the Camels will be pushing hard for a top place in the Epps Cup or even a jump to the C Division.  Importantly, the roster may be constructed to do just that in 2019.  Eight of the ten starters from last year’s CSA Team Championships return, including four of the top five positions in the ladder. Joining that crucial level of depth with three promising recruits who will look to plug holes in the middle of the ladder could be a recipe of increased success for MacDonald and crew. If Conn College wants to make that jump in the rankings, their fate will likely be decided by two late season matches against Bowdoin and St. Lawrence, but they cannot overlook their Mount Holyoke match earlier in January.
