Haverford: 2018-2019 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Things are looking up for the Haverford College Men’s Squash program, as the team continues to reach levels it has not seen in some time. By finishing ranked 28th in the country, the Fords matched the best year-end ranking since the end of the 2005 season.  Haverford reached the 10-win plateau for the third time in four seasons, and their two graduating seniors amassed more than 40 career victories, joining only Skillman Award winner Tim Saint ’02 at that level.  But now career wins leader Peter Dudley (46) and Zach Cole (40) have moved on, leaving the eight returners and three new first-years to keep the momentum going.  Head Coach Niki Clement’s goals for the team are well developed for the squad at her disposal: To play to our full potential, physically and mentally.  For our returning players to build on their game and play strong roles in the culture of our program, and for the first years to make a significant and positive impact to the overall team experience.” Haverford will not have the opportunity to meet the teams direct adjacent to them in the rankings, but they will need to defend their turf against all challengers.  A mid-season stretch of match-ups with Stanford, Colby, and Wesleyan will go a long way toward defining Haverford’s season.
