South Hadley, MA — On the weekend of January 20th – 22nd, the 2017 Pioneer Valley Invitational was hosted by Amherst College, Mount Holyoke College, and Smith College.

On the second day of the three-day event, Mount Holyoke hosted Colby.

In the match at the #2 position, a pair of sophomores, Ragini Ghose (Mount Holyoke) and Olivia Silverman (Colby), squared off. Ghose won the match in five games (11-5, 6-11, 11-13, 11-8, and 11-6).

Colby captured the team match, 6-3.

At the Pioneer Valley Invitational, Mount Holyoke lost to Colby and Wesleyan. They next face Haverford. Colby went 3-2 at the event with victories over Mount Holyoke, Wesleyan, and Smith.
