Fordham: 2016 – 2017 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Fordham University Bronx, NY — Fordham will have to rebuild its roster this season. The Rams are only returning three players from the 2016 Men’s College Squash Association National Team Championships. Last year, Fordham finished the season with a 9 – 9 record and for the second straight season were ranked 39th in the nation. It may be challenging for the Rams to maintain a top-40 ranking position at the end of the 2016 – 2017 season. Their strength last season came from the top-3 ladder positions, two-thirds of whom have graduated. The Rams are planning two Mid Atlantic road trips. In the fall, they will visit the Naval Academy for a round robin, and in late January Fordham will head to Baltimore for another round robin. With roster challenges, don’t be surprised if Fordham needs a late season surge to qualify for the Chaffee Cup (E Division). The Rams may be charging into the Serues Cup (F Division) at this season’s Team Championships.
