Medford, MA — Tufts won the Chaffee Cup (E Division) at the 2016 Men’s College Squash Association National Team Championships. The Jumbos are not content with that. They plan to move higher in the rankings. The squad is young. There was not a senior in their starting line-up at Team Championships and according to head coach Joe McManus, “There is not a senior on the roster [this season]. And is this by far the most talented and deepest team I’ve had in my five years at Tufts.” The Jumbos have six freshmen that intend to earn spots in the line-up. McManus adds that “there will be intense competition for playing time. Tufts expects that training intensity to translate into a run at the Conroy Cup at the CSA National Team Tournament.” Tufts is focused on matches with Colby, Conn College, Dickinson, and Hamilton. These matches will be key if the Jumbos intend to move up the rankings. If everything goes according to plan, look for the young Tufts squad to be fighting for the Conroy Cup.
