Dartmouth: 2015 – 2016 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Dartmouth CollegeHanover, NH — The Big Green want to return to the Potter Cup (A Division) at the 2015 – 2016 Team Championships. Dartmouth surprised many by making it to the finals of the Hoehn Cup (B Division) at last season’s Team Championships. The Big Green are hoping to carry that momentum into this season. The team graduated two players from last season’s starting nine. However, they are expecting three first-year players, and their former #1 is returning from injury. To further the development of the squad, Dartmouth is planning a December training trip. In addition, former Skillman Award winner Chris Hanson will be joining his former team as a part-time assistant coach. Captaining the Big Green will be James Fisch. According to assistant coach Theo Woodward, “James’ squash level has increased dramatically. This season is likely to be a huge year for James with a strong trend of continued improvement.” Dartmouth will need to build on last season’s experience in 5-4 matches, 3-0, and increase the win percentage of it top 3 players to move back into the Potter Cup.
