Harvard: 2015 – 2016 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Harvard UniversityCambridge, MA — A season removed from their 31st national team title, Harvard University expects to be back in contention for the Ivy League and national titles in 2015 – 2016. After opening last season with a 1-2 record, the Crimson rebounded and finished the season as the third ranked team in the nation. Harvard only lost a single player to graduation, and they are gaining three players who expect to compete for positions in the lower third of the ladder. According to assistant coach Hameed Ahmed, “We only lost one player in the top 9, and we are gaining a solid a freshman class. So we think we’re a slightly deeper team than last year.” Last season, Harvard was a young squad with four freshmen in the top nine at Team Championships. The experience gained last season should benefit the Crimson this season. Harvard will once again be volunteering with SquashBusters, Boston’s urban squash program. Watch for the Crimson to be in contention once again this season.
