Penn State: 2015 – 2016 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Penn State UniversityState College, PA — After falling short of the required matches to qualify for Team Championships, Penn State is focused on earning a spot to the 2015 – 2016 tournament. According to captain Taylor Blackford, “We would like to compete at nationals this year since we were unable to attend for various reasons last year. We also would like to grow as a club and get more involvement within the University.” Penn State is focused on matches with Drexel, Ithaca, and Johns Hopkins as they work to reestablish themselves. Last season, the team was weakest in the lower third of the line-up. With the loss of two players to graduation, the entire line-up will need to improve to facilitate the Nittany Lions’ goal. Blackford is optimistic about finding new talent. “Most of the team is new to the sport so we hope they learn quickly,” he adds.
