Bronx, NY — Fordham has big ambitions for the 2014 – 2015 season. After finishing last season with a ranking of 52nd and a 5th place finish in the Hawthorn Cup (G Division), the Rams want to jump over 20 spots in the rankings and finish in the top 30 teams in the nation. This will be a huge challenge for the Rams. With the exception of two players studying abroad during the Fall semester, Fordham is returning its entire starting 9 from last season’s Team Championships. In addition, the team is expecting four players with prep squash experience to join the squad. According to head coach Bryan Patterson, “We’ve floated in around the 50 mark the past couple of years, and we feel we a much stronger team than in years past. We’ve brought in 4 very strong new players, 3 of which will play in the top 5 on the team.” In addition to Ted Clarke, Patterson has added Andrew Kreite, Amherst alum and CitySquash’s co-Director of Squash, to his coaching staff. Fordham may not have the schedule to facilitate a huge move in the rankings, but it would be nice to see positive momentum from the Rams.
