Bates: 2014 – 2015 Men’s College Squash Season Preview

Bates CollegeLewiston, ME — Bates’s 2014 – 2015 season looks promising. To help guide the Bobcats, head coach Pat Cosquer is adding “the godfather of The Maine Squash League,” Greg Born, to his coaching staff.  Bates is also adding an additional court, an all-glass court, to their facility this fall. That will make a total of six courts for the Bobcats. Over the winter break, the team is planning a training and community service trip to California. After only graduating one senior last season, Bates will enter the 2014 – 2015 campaign with three seniors, two of whom are tri-captains. Bates will look to improve performances in close matches and production from the bottom of the ladder. Last season, Bates was 0-2 in 5-4 matches,  losing to Navy and Williams. However, they did avenge those losses with victories against Navy and Williams in the Hoehn Cup. The Bobcats, who were dominant at the top of their ladder last season (positions 1 and 2 captured 90% of their matches), hope to increase production at the bottom of their ladder (positions 8 and 9 won 37% of their matches last season). To move up the rankings, they will need a solid line-up throughout the ladder.
