College Squash Reminders (8/29/2014)

Northampton, MA — On Friday evening, the e-mail below was sent to coaches and team contacts.

Dear College Squash Coaches and Team Leaders,

Teams should submit their proposed competitive schedule for the upcoming season for entry into the online system over the coming weeks. The deadline for submission is Friday, September 5, 2014. If your team’s full schedule is not yet set, please submit the most up-to-date one possible and adjustments will be made later.

The information for each match should include:

  • Date
  • Home Team/Away Team
    • If the match is being played at a third venue, please indicate the facility at which the match will be played
  • Time (only if decided)
  • All schedules should be submitted to Laurelle Holley, at laurelle.holley@ussquash.com

Memorial Service – John Illig

The college squash community remains shocked and deeply saddened by tragic loss of Middlebury Men’s and Women’s coach John Illig.

A special memorial service is being planned for John on the Middlebury campus this fall. All CSA coaches, players and friends are welcome to attend.

Intercollegiate Doubles Championships Registration

The 30th annual Intercollegiate Doubles Championships will be held October 10-12 in Philadelphia, PA. The tournament will be hosted by the Racquet Club of Philadelphia and the Germantown Cricket Club.

The participants of this year’s men’s and women’s draws will be offered free entry to participate in the U.S. Squash Doubles Championships, and the mixed participants will be offered free entry into the U.S. Mixed Squash Doubles Championships. There is no entry fee for the Intercollegiate Doubles and each school is guaranteed at least one team in the men’s, women’s and mixed divisions.

The 2014 U.S. Open Squash Championships will be held in Philadelphia, PA, (Drexel University) from October 9-18, 2014. All entrants in the 2014 Intercollegiate Doubles Championships will receive complementary tickets for the U.S. Open.

Leading up to the event, there will be two collegiate events for added doubles preparation. The first is a new one day event at Berwyn Squash & Fitness Club Saturday, September 13th. There is no entry fee for all college squash players. The second event is the M4 hosted by Meadow Mill September 26-28. All entry forms can be found on the tournament information pages linked below.
