Cambridge, MA — Harvard’s goal for the 2013-2014 season is to compete for the Ivy League and national titles. Considering that the Crimson have reached the national final five years running, winning three times, it seems almost a given they will be in contention for the Howe Cup again this season. The team returns six of nine starters from last year’s championship roster, and six new players will be joining the program: Katie Tutrone, Dileas MacGowan, Caroline Monrad, Emily Jones, Keegan Mendez, and Morgan Breitmeyer. “The young women coming in have the work ethic that we need to maintain the high standard here,” Mike Way, the Gregory Lee ’87 and Russell Ball ’88 Endowed Coach for Squash, told GoCrimson.com. “We were impressed by character of all … and are confident that they will fit into our strong team culture.” Hameed Ahmed, an All-American at Rochester who has served as the Yellowjackets’ assistant coach for the past few seasons, has signed on to the Crimson staff as well.
